Feature headlines
Test your headline-writing mettle against that of other copy editors.

For this exercise, you will write headlines for a variety of articles. The challenge is to make your headlines fit the space allotments of the originals. After writing your headline, you can compare your work to the original heads and read how the writers tackled their challenges. Headline specifications for each headline and drop head (aka "deck head," "secondary head," "sub head," etc.) will follow this format: line count (or "decks"), column count and character count (type size is fixed for you)
